A MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN: SEWA weds TUNDE

It’s about 3:45am and I can’t seem to sleep!  Just in bed singing and dancing (in my mind ) to this spontaneous  nice tune “Go Go Go Go Go  Sewa, it’s your wedding!  Go Princess it’s your big day!”. Today is Saturday 23rd March 2013;  a very special and lovely PSF sister of mine is getting married to her heartbeat in a few hours. I am so happy for them but a little sad too L iReally wish I could make it to the wedding in Nigeria but unfortunately I’m stuck in this freezing cold country and to make matters worse it’s snowing so I can’t even go out to have fun today…  Well, I was in bed thinking, singing and moaning when I thought to myself “I should dedicate a blog post to TundeSewa” and here it is, YIPEEE!

"When true friends think the friendship is worth keeping for life, one becomes Adesewa and the other becomes Olatunde."--- The couple

Isn’t that quote really sweet?  Adesewa  and Tunde Banjo are really a match made in heaven! I love their love mehn!  To be honest I think I'm a little obsessed with love stories but who isn’t though?  I absolutely love young, sweet, romantic and godly couples. I've met a few cute couples but today, for the first time on my blog, I'll be celebrating a newlywed whose love iLove to bits.

Sewa is a darling PSF sister of mine, and Tunde her beau is a gentle man I'm yet to meet . Of course Sewa had given me nice gist about how they met, the relationship and all and I thought "Aww! How sweet" but little did I know until I stumbled on their blog online. I can't remember whether I had butterflies in my belly or goosebumps while reading their blog but I knew they made me feel like falling in love all over again.

Sewa and Tunde met for the first time in 2009 at the RCCG Redemption Camp in Nigeria. Tunde somehow got princess' number off her and kept in touch. Communications went from text messages, phone calls, seeing each other a few times, emails and letters until Tunde moved to the UK. Sewa being very creative had used a fancy pencil work to thrill the young man and Tunde responded in kind by paying some random artist to do a pencil work of his new found love.

On and on and on they went, dude was madly in love with the girl, girl was crazy about him, love is in the air, God is involved and then the proposal!

Tunde's Proposal : I love you and I know that this love is from God. Because of this, I want to be with you so that we might serve Christ together. Through all of the uncertainties and trials of the present and future, I promise to be faithful to you and love you. I promise to guide and protect you as Christ does his church, as long as we both shall live. God’s Word gives us the perfect example of this love in Christ’s death for the Church. I shall try always, with God’s help, to show you this same kind of love, for I know that in His sight we will both be one. My goal will be to continuously be a more loving person to you for as long as I have breath. I love you and it’s a big deal.

Sewa's reply: You are the perfect verse over a tight beat. You are more wonderful than my dream. YES, I want to spend the rest of my life with you, in none and in plenty, serving Christ together. I promise to love and respect you. I promise to be submissive to you, and forever be a good thing in your life. Loving you Olatunde is a serious business for me, and i promise to do so with every breath in me. I love you my Sweetness.

COUGH! COUGH! I GO LOVE OOOO ! (If don't believe in love or if you think Christians are boring and not romantic, please visit TundeSewa's blog  tundesewa.wordpress.com )

On 23rd March 2013, Adesewa Obasa and Tunde Banjo celebrated their love in Lagos, Nigeria. I was so pained! Really wished I could witness the big day we anxiously waited for! You should have seen me rolling on my bed a night before! My body was in UK but my spirit had boarded the flight to Lagos. I had my home girls on the bridal train and they did a pretty good job filling me in on the events of the day.

To God's glory, the day was glorious and beautiful as expected. Princess Adesewa looked so beautiful in her lovely white ball gown while her Prince charming, Tunde, looked on point in his suit. I heard the Molebians rocked as usual too.

LadyMay's toast to the couple *Picks wine glass* Here is to a great, blessed, fruitful, happy, peaceful and fantabulous marriage *Cheers* Happy Married Life, may the Lord bless your new home in Jesus name. Amen.

P.S. If you are single and waiting on the Lord for the right person, please I want to encourage you to take time out to pray and seek God's face, open your eyes, work towards becoming the right person/ great spouse and keep trusting God. Be patient, don't settle for less, just wait for that special person God has for you. Remember the bible says "He makes all things beautiful in his time"

This is a surprise by the way, Sewa didn't see this coming. It is just my own little way of celebrating the gorgeous couple so please could you kindly help in celebrating them by dropping a comment congratulating these lovebirds. Thank you.

ERMMMMM TRUE LOVE? DOES THAT STILL EXIST?

These days I've been thinking so much about love. Does true love still exist? Sorry to burst your bubbles, I know I can be very mushy sometimes but I didn't mean that kind of boy-girl 'Eros' love you were thinking about, I meant the Philo and agape kind of love, unconditional love. I've seen so many things lately that makes me wonder if true, pure and undiluted love still exist in our relationships, families, churches and society?

The word ‘love’ has been bastardised, these days when someone says ‘I love you’, you really have to double check to make sure they really mean it. The same applies to Christian folks in the church, when the choir raises a song like ‘Hold somebody, tell them that you love them, put your hands together and praise the Lord’... Everyone gets excited, grab their neighbours hands, swing and dance along but deep within, many are guilty of two sins. Sin number 1, lying! Sin 2, hypocrisy! Why tell someone you can’t tolerate ‘I love you’ just because the song says so? Why pretend to be cool with someone when behind their backs you are ready and very willing to devour them with your tongue? (Sometimes I’m guilty of this too but thank God for the Holy Spirit who knows how to chastise those he loves when they step out of line.)

Loving others isn't an easy task, I guess that is why it is the 2nd most important commandment God gave. It’s very easy to love those who love you but we all know how frustrating it can be to love those who keep getting on our nerves. Personally I do my best and find it quite easy to love everyone around me but the hard work comes when you have to show love to those who will take your love for granted, rub it in filth and then throw back in your face.  The experience isn't really a nice one but I never learn my lessons, lol, before you know it, I'm loving again. I can't really change that about me.

Anyways while I was thinking, I realised that the reason why pure love seems to be going extinct in our world today is because many people don’t really love themselves and as a result they find it really difficult to love to others. The big book says ‘Love your neighbour as yourself’. If you don’t love yourself how are you supposed to know how to love others? If you don’t appreciate yourself, it will be difficult to appreciate the good things in other people! Loving yourself, your state and estate is the first step to loving other people. If you are comfortable with whom you are and the position God has placed you, you will find it easy to love and relate with others without secret hatred, grudges and hypocrisy.

Another reason why I feel true love is ‘scarce’ in our society is because many people show love with selfish desires, they love for what they would get in return and some who love do it as frequently as we celebrate Christmas. As Christians this shouldn't be, our love shouldn't be conditional, we are supposed to be Christ-like!. Christ showed us love when were very irritating and dirty, he died for us while we were sinners. Imagine if Christ had waited for you to love him before dying on the cross for you? We didn’t deserve His love yet he showed us love and still continues to show us unfailing love!

So back to my question, does true love still exist? Ermmmm, what do you think?  I believe even if true love doesn’t exist in your own little world, you have all it takes to show and experience true love.  The bible says in 1 Corinthians 13: 4-6 “Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.”    To experience true love, start by loving yourself and then start showing love to others without selfish and hidden agendas. Go all the way to show love and care to people without expecting anything in return, be selfless and keep praying to God for the grace to help you show love to those who really do not deserve it.

This planet can do with some love, “Spread love everywhere you go: first of all in your own home. Give love to your children, to your wife or husband, to a next door neighbor . . . Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God's kindness; kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile, kindness in your warm greeting.” ― Mother Teresa

Have a lovely weekend

GO MAY! IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY

Mum's cooking, Debbie is baking and I'm chilling because it's my birthday *Dancing on my bed* LOL! To be honest, today just seems like a normal day... I came back from uni all knackered, went straight to bed and now I've just woken up thinking about my life.

Why has God kept me alive to see this day? What's my purpose here on earth? Have I found that purpose? Where do I wanna be this time next year? Where was I this time last year? Where am I at the moment?

The last one year has been filled with so many silent battles, bipolar behaviours, spiritual stagnancy, betrayals, emotional numbness and so many dramas. This time last year, I had so many questions I needed answers to, I was worried about so many things, I had several nightmares warning me about things but I didn't know exactly what to do with them.

I prayed and prayed in my own little way! At apoint, I didn't know exactly what to pray about, all I could do was read Psalms 3(my favourite psalm these days) and Psalms 34(which someone told me to pray with). I knew God wasn't just listening, Christ was also praying for me :) It's really been a year of many stories, when I look back and see how far God's grace has brought me, I can't but give thanks. At those awkward moments when people expected me to breakdown or disappear into thin air, God strengthened me! He became the source of my strength, peace and joy, the kind that surpasses all understanding. You know that kind of peace, joy and strength that confuses both well-wishers and haters LOL!. Some couldn't tell whether I was really ok or not, some thought I was just faking it but I totally enjoyed it! I loved the look on some people's face each time they said hello or asked about my well being... it was Priceless!  I was doing very well and didn't need to proof my 'okness' to anyone.

Today, I'm thankful to God for making both the sweet and sour experiences in the past year work together for my good! When my heart was overwhelmed, he held me close! He has indeed been my shield, my glory and the lifter up of my head! It's been 23 full years of ups and downs, of plenty laughter and some moment of tears. What can I say but a big thank you to the Lord who orchestrated my life's journey! God has been so good to me, if all the hair on my head were tongues they won't be enough to sing his praise.

Over the year, I learnt a few lessons I would like to share a few with you.
1)     When you are in God’s good books, all things (the good, the bad, the beautiful and ugly) will work together for your good! Don’t let your disappointments weigh you down, God will make sure testimonies come out from the tests you are going true if only you’ll trust him.    “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose”- Romans 8:28.

2)     Wisdom is usually a better weapon than strength!  Sometimes people you respect so much will try to take you for a fool, you might have all it takes to put them in their place immediately but wisdom  is what will make you sort them out in a way that will please both God and man.    “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all your getting get understanding.”- Proverbs 4:7

3)     Silence is a very powerful tool, learn to keep quiet!   One of my favourite big brothers always says to me “BabyMay just keep quiet and watch, your silence cannot be quoted”.  I had moments when I really felt like screaming the roof off but I tried to shut my mouth up even when people were getting on my nerves.  It wasn't an easy thing to do but trust me guys, silence works!   It confuses and makes those whose hands are not clean nervous.   “Even a fool, when he holds his peace, is counted wise: and he that shuts his lips is esteemed a man of understanding”.-Proverbs 17:28

I didn't plan to do anything today but it seems like these girls are so up to something, I smell fooddddd !!!! Now let me go see what's cooking in the kitchen *Dancing* Go May, it's your birthday*.

I had a fun-filled day J Special thanks to my darling little sis Debbie for baking the yummy cupcakes A , to my adorable adopted sisters Wunmi and Ife for putting the b-day dinner together, and to  everyone who called and sent messages. May the Lord bless you all JJJ.

WHERE AM I HEADING? HEAVEN OR HELL?

For some weird reason, since Goldie Harvey (A Nigerian Artist) passed away on Valentine's day, I have spent more time reflecting about life and life after death. I think her death made me realise how sudden death could be (it's not like I didn't know that before but the sudden death of a musician I knew nothing about really shook me). The truth is that I'm not afraid to die but what got me thinking was life after death. “If I died now, would I really wake up in heaven? Am I blameless before God or have I given the devil room to distract me?”  While I was reflecting one night, the Holy spirit really ministered to me, I was so blessed and I know it is worth sharing so here you go J

My Midnight Reflection: WOULD I MAKE HEAVEN?

The bible says in John 10:10 that the ministry of the devil is to steal, to kill and to destroy. One of my favourite pastors, Elder G. Craig Lewis further broke the verse down by explaining that the devil does these by stealing one's innocence, killing one's conscience and then destroying one's future.

The devil has little or no business trying to destroy a sinner because he/she is headed for hell anyway. We Christians are the devil's target! That cunning guy is constantly on the move strategising, skimming and plotting ways to devour us. He'll toy with our emotions, try to use our weaknesses to get us, he could try to get us through a friend, family member, boss or even a pastor. He could steal our innocence and kill our conscience by making us feel those 'little' sins and besetting sins do not really matter, and also give us good excuses to justify our unrighteous acts! Less I forget, sometimes he makes us so busy with 'church' activities and then we get too tired to spend quality time with God.

Too many of us are busy doing things in the house of God but are asleep spiritually! Wake up and smell the coffee Christians We are in those last days the bible talks about and Christ could return any moment from now. The devil isn't sleeping; he is doing everything in his power to make sure Christians leave the straight and narrow way. That's why the bible told us in 1Peter 5:8 to "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour"

This week, take time out to reflect! Are you really where God wants you to be spiritually? If the rapture happened now, would you make it? God forbid but if you die the next minute would you wake up in heaven or hell?

"Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves." - 2 Corinthians 13:5a

Enjoy the rest of the week
With love,
LadyMay
